MSME - Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises

The ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) works towards strengthening small business industry of the country. Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) contribute nearly 8 percent of the country’s GDP, 45 percent of the manufacturing output and 40 percent of the exports. They provide the largest share of employment after agriculture. They are the nurseries for entrepreneurship and innovation. The ministry has a number of programmes to help and assist entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises envision a vibrant MSME sector by promoting growth and development of the MSME Sector, including Khadi, Village and Coir Industries, in cooperation with concerned Ministries/Departments, State Governments and other Stakeholders, through providing support to existing enterprises and encouraging creation of new enterprises.
